Privacy policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
This notice explains how SeeYourSEO handles information when you use the website audit service. SeeYourSEO is operated independently by an individual, not by a company. For general questions, email [email protected]. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
Information used to provide a scan
When you request a scan, we process the website address you submit, the pages and links discovered on that website, page response details, and the resulting audit report. A scan may include information that is present on the public pages you ask us to inspect. Please scan only websites you own or are authorized to review.
Why we process it
We use this information to perform the scan you requested and provide its report. This processing is necessary to provide the requested service. We also have a legitimate interest in maintaining the security and reliability of the service. We do not use scan content to build advertising profiles or sell it.
Retention and report links
The report and its pages are held in temporary server memory and the report link expires 20 minutes after the scan finishes. Anyone with the report link may view the report while it remains available, so share it only with people you trust. The scan’s background crawl and analysis task records are automatically removed after their configured task-retention period, which is one hour by default. A server restart can remove temporary reports sooner. To monitor service use, we separately retain the submitted website hostname, scan time, status, and page count for up to 30 days. These usage records do not include the full submitted URL, IP address, or a visitor identifier; they show scan submissions and domains, not distinct people. Only the service operator can view them in a password-protected dashboard. Downloaded Markdown files are saved by you and are outside our control. Your browser may keep the report URL in its local browsing history until you clear it.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website does not set optional analytics, advertising, or preference cookies. It uses the browser address bar to keep a temporary report link available. No consent banner is shown because the site currently does not use non-essential cookies or similar tracking technologies. If that changes, optional technologies will be blocked until you make a choice, and you will be able to change or withdraw that choice.
Service providers and website destinations
The service is hosted by the infrastructure selected by its operator. During a scan, requests are made to the website and link destinations you ask us to check. Those sites receive ordinary network request information and apply their own privacy terms. The operator should identify the hosting provider and server region here before opening the service to the public.
International transfers
Scan data is processed on the server where SeeYourSEO is deployed. The server region and any applicable transfer safeguards depend on the deployment chosen by the operator. If data is processed outside the European Economic Area, the operator must put an appropriate transfer mechanism in place and update this notice with the relevant details.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal data, and to complain to your data protection authority. Since reports expire automatically, the easiest way to remove an active report early or ask a question is to email [email protected]. We may need enough information to identify the report, such as its report URL. We will not ask you to send passwords or unrelated sensitive data.
Security and changes
Reports are held temporarily in memory and are not intended as permanent storage. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this notice when the service or its data practices change; the date above will be revised when we do.
